Hi! This is Riddhi from AHG Troop IL 1317. I wrote to you earlier this year and am here to write to you again!
Now, I’ll recap what our Troop has done for the past couple of months!
During March and April, our Troop held its biggest fundraiser, the Flower Sale! We were able to sell many flowers (and veggies, and herbs!) and met our Troop goal! We sold 228 flats (48 from the Parish) and 394 baskets (75 from the Parish). Thank you all for your support!
During April, AHG Pioneer member Jillian and I planned a service project, a no-sew blanket making session, for the Troop to give to residents in a senior community. The girls had an amazing time, competing against the clock to see how many blankets they could make! We made a total of 5 blankets! We participated in the Parish first Saturday devotions on April 5th, which included a Healing Mass, and rosary prayers led by Troop girls.
During March, the PiPa (Pioneer and Patriots) ages 12- 18, took a trip to the Art Institute of Chicago, to fulfill requirements for the Art History badge. They looked at multiple different forms and styles of art, including impressionism, which contrasted the lighter colorswith darker ones, using short, visible dabs of paint. Our Troop held our annual Recognition Sunday Mass and Catholic Faith Award Ceremony. Girls, who completed the Faith Award requirements, received either a medal or segment patch, or a patch for attending a retreat at Marytown.
Interested yet? If any of you parishioners know young girls between the ages of 5 to 18, please talk to them! We are a welcoming Troop and firmly believe in ‘the more the merrier’! The AHG motto is Faith, Service and Fun! For more information, or to schedule a visit to our Troop please contact Mrs. Sarah Schorsch at [email protected]. Thank you for taking the time to read this article.
